Top 10 Reasons For Taking Too Long Time To Get Results

why despite the fact that we are implementing and acting and moving toward our mission to the goals we target. sometimes in the good case our task takes much longer then we thought or planed. and in the worst case our goals is not achieved.
in this time management article as with more time management articles to come, I will bring some reasons why. There is no any special order as more or less important, i think all is important and can cause problem to whoever it happens, and can stops or delay the success.
in This article i will not bring the time management solutions to those causes to delays in the project, it might come in future on individual time management articles.

for that reason causing our task to take more than we planned i will dedicate a separate article.
In short - if our assumptions are wrong - like we assume how long should take a particular task or activity if done properly. But in the true reality and our assumption there is a gap, sometimes large. Here is One reason:
More than once we are exposed to lectures and experts who draw rosy picture that says; "it takes almost no time"  But when we come to do this in practice after several attempts we understand that it takes lot more time to get it done. to Say is easier and faster - to make it can take a long time.
Another reason is time allocation: in our planning we take into account 0 failures - I do not say that there is no such thing, but as Murphy's law said about - what can go wrong can go wrong. allocate at least 50% to unexpected time delayers to experts and 300% for trials, mistakes and errors to beginners.

One of the most important components to perform a task well and on time is knowledge and good planning.
 likely that everyone understands that. but it is not always put these components in the timetable, so as not  always we know how long it will take us to study the subject and learn. The intention is to not only understand but know how to perform and do the task.
The learning curve takes a lot more time than we think, Study time varies from person to person, sometimes we do not take into account that significant component of learning in our plan.
Entering the task with a lack of appropriate knowledge can not only delay in the task but fail to accomplish our mission.
So if you do the task for the first time it would take you at list 3 times longer for learning, trials, mistakes and errors compare to experts.

Working on more then one issue at the same time - lack of focus or not working on things that bring good results.
This reason why the mission time extended beyond planed says: as humans we are limited to focus on one thing at a time.
Sometimes people think they need an alternatives streams of income. or after investing a lot of time on a project it is hard to abandon it.
But with all the pain you must leave and concentrate on one project, at least for some time where you need to focus on the main project, and leave aside all other projects.
sometimes you invest in bad customers that are wasting you time rather than others that bring you results.

The technological world we live in today - is changing very quickly - things that worked well recently replaced by new methods.
our audience that was in one place yesterday now is in a different place. For example the Internet. a few years ago there was no Twitter, no Facebook, no YouTube and many other factors that today attract lots of attention of our potential customers.
So it is important that we will aim ourselves to the current reality and not to the reality of a long time ago. that does not work and just will take us a long time without bringing any results.

 another reason that extend the time to accomplish the mission beyond our planning is the lack of use of utility tools and systems. Or using weak utilities while there are much better tools available.
today there is countless computers and the Internet tools to almost any computer task. many of the tools or systems are very good tools.
We should choose the tools and systems that make it easier for us to perform the particular task good and in less time.

there is no clear objectives - no set tasks.
Task is not clear that's like saying I want to get to a certain city. It's really not set up correctly.
Each task should be limited in time, determining the results expected, and what steps are required for its implementation.

For some reason some people do not seek help, sometimes you can get ideas how to solve a problem even from a small kid or from the most simple worker.

You always have to ask yourself whether I can find someone to do the work more cheaply than me and maybe better.

Like a cake missing ingredient. Do what is easy and fun and not doing what is necessary - they do not like the job or task - for example; marketing, sales.

This reason is also related to outsourcing. Ready to move things and tasks not suitable to our ability or to our passion to another specialist that knows how to do the job even better then us.
so it is important to fit the mission and the person.
